How to submit a gemstone

Gemstones can be submitted directly to the Labora- tory in Bangkok (see contact us) or via a courier that specializes in the shipping of high value packages. These include Malca Amit, Brinks or Ferrari. Please contact the local branches of these companies for a quote on your shipment. Your items may also be shipped to our office at the Geneva free-port (see contact us).

Note that all shipping costs, including return ship- ments and insurances are supported by the client. An email confirmation to the shipping company mentio- ning the above is requested and needs to be shown to us before every shipment. An itemized list of every gemstone/jewelry piece should be featured on the commercial invoice/ me- morendum. Lots with a total weight are not accepted.

For every shipment, a submission form should be downloaded and included in the package together with your items.

On-site testing

In the increasingly fast and demanding times we live in, we understand that a rapid turnaround time can make a big difference to our clients. Sales opportunities may be missed if a gemstone stays for weeks or even month at a Gem Testing Laboratory before being given back. Time is the essence and we are proud to offer a high quality, affordable gem testing service directly at our client’s office. No shipping and insurance fees, no gemstone immobilised for a long period of time. Whenever possible, results of the analyses are also given to our clients directly on the spot.

Evidently, a fast turnaround time should not and cannot imply any compromise on the quality of our analyses. During testing, strict protocols are being implemented that insure that these analyses meet the highest standards. This has been made possible by the technological advances of the past decades which have seen the emergence of transportable, high-tech analytical equipment that were once the privilege of universities and research institutes only.

These advanced analytics allows us, in most cases, to come up with all the information required for the issuance of a Gemstone Report. Some gemstones may however require additional testing that cannot be performed on-site. When this is the case, the client is instantly informed of the situation and may decide to withdraw the item at no cost. For the past ten years, we have been regularly and repeatedly travelling to many locations in Europe, America, the Middle-East and Asia. This service is also available at several Asian trade shows.
